Hello all,
We can finally confirm our new dates: November 14th to November 17th. This is a first for us – a winter Guth Gafa with warm cosy cinema venues, hot mulled wine, pre-Christmas cheer, amazing films and great post-screening discussions. What’s not to like?
Our programme is being wrapped up and invitations have been sent out to
directors around the world. We should be ready to present the program in
the next few weeks!
The move this year from Headfort School to Kells Town reflects our
process of continual renewal as a world-class festival. This shift is
meant to integrate Guth Gafa with the special intimate scale of Kells,
rather than being a destination venue. This will allow punters to dip in
and out of the program as their weekend schedule permits.
Using the town as a context will in a sense be a precursor to the
year-round presence Guth Gafa has secured with the ‘town elders’ as the
first step to reinvigorating culture in an outreach to rural Ireland.
It is because of your loyal support that we’ve carried on the fight for a
cultural web to cover distant corners of Ireland as our history in
Gortahork and far flung Malin will attest.
Thank you.
Details on the program will follow shortly
Regards
David and Neasa
