The Guth Gafa International Documentary Film Festival which takes place 4-7 August at Headfort House, Kells, Co Meath is proud to present the Irish premiere of The Grown-Ups , a sensitive and good-humoured story from Chile.

The film focuses on a group of friends with Down syndrome, who have been attending the same catering school for years but find that their desire for greater independence is not taken seriously by those around them.

The Grown-Ups is told entirely from the students’ perspectives and subtly questions society’s perceptions of people with intellectual disabilities.

Down Syndrome Ireland is happy to assist the festival with the promotion of The Grown-Ups,

The film will be screened on Sunday 6 August at 2.15pm in the Adam Room of Headfort House and on Monday 7 August at 4.45pm in the Road House Cinema, Headfort House, Kells, Co Meath.
